Dear Participants:

I have the esteemed pleasure of welcoming you to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s first workshop – The South China Sea and its Environment: Circulation and Dynamics. We are happy you could join us to make this conference a success.

The SCS Workshop is scheduled for January 28 – 30 in the Clark Building, Quissett Campus Room 507. We have developed a full, but focused agenda for each day. Our goal for the workshop will be to foster international cooperation on the physical oceanography studies of the South China Sea, and to discuss future directions for cooperative research. There will be time for small group conversations located in the Clark Building, Rooms 509 and 201 throughout each day.

Your perspective, experience, and input are crucial to the success of this workshop and our effort to develop useful and practical recommendations on this topic. We hope you will bring a willingness to dive into the discussion, share your expertise, and openness to the perspectives of other participants.

*** We will be hosting a Welcome Reception for those guests arriving Tuesday, January 27 at 7:00pm.  It will be in the Clark Building, Room 507***

I hope your stay in Woods Hole is comfortable and pleasant. If you have any questions or need some assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
