I have the esteemed pleasure of welcoming you to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s first workshop – The South China Sea and its Environment: Circulation and Dynamics. We are happy you could join us to make this conference a success.
The SCS Workshop is scheduled for January 28 – 30 in the Clark Building, Quissett Campus Room 507. We have developed a full, but focused agenda for each day. Our goal for the workshop will be to foster international cooperation on the physical oceanography studies of the South China Sea, and to discuss future directions for cooperative research. There will be time for small group conversations located in the Clark Building, Rooms 509 and 201 throughout each day.
Your perspective, experience, and input are crucial to the success of this workshop and our effort to develop useful and practical recommendations on this topic. We hope you will bring a willingness to dive into the discussion, share your expertise, and openness to the perspectives of other participants.

Driving Directions from Logan International Airport, Boston, Massachusetts to the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution – Quissett Campus
Find signs and merge onto I-90W. Take exit 24-25 for I-93. Keep left at the fork and merge onto I-93S. Take exit 7 on the left toward Cape Cod. Continue onto MA-3S. MA-3S turns into US-6E. Take exit 1C toward Massachusetts 6A/Sagamore. Continue onto Mid-Cape Connector. Turn left onto Sandwich Rd. At the traffic circle take the 4th exit onto MA-28S/General MacArthur Blvd/MacArthur Blvd. Go about 4 miles and at the 2nd traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto MA-28S. MA-28S turns slightly right and becomes Locust Street. Locust St becomes Woods Hole Rd. The Quissett Campus will be on your left in about 2.5 miles.

Head east on Airport Connector Road E. Take a slight left toward Airport Connector Road W. Take a slight right toward Airport Connector Road W (signs for I-95). Continue straight onto Airport Connector Road W. Merge onto I-95N via the ramp to Providence. Take exit 20 to merge onto I-195E/US-6E toward East Providence/Cape Cod. Continue to follow I-195E entering Massachusetts. Take exit 22A to merge onto MA-25E toward Cape Cod. Continue on the Blue Star Memorial Highway/MA- 28S. At the traffic circle take the 4th exit onto MA-28S/General MacArthur Blvd/MacArthur Blvd. Go about 4 miles and at the 2nd traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto MA-28S. MA-28S turns slightly right and becomes Locust Street. Locust St becomes Woods Hole Rd. The Quissett Campus will be on your left in about 2.5 miles.
Transportation
WHOI will offer a shuttle service from Shoreway Acres Inn to the Quissett Campus each morning. More information to follow at a later date.
Alternatively, you can drive to the Quissett Campus (map and directions below). If you plan on parking your vehicle at the Quissett Campus, please notify Jessica Lupone. She will make sure your permit is available at your hotel during check-in.
